It is aimed at practising electricians who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some update of training.
This qualification prepares candidates for the initial verification and periodic inspection of electrical installation work.
Course Duration – 5 days
Entry to these qualifications require you to have ‘experience and knowledge of inspection and testing.’
It is a requirement that candidates hold a level 3 qualification in an electrotechnical subject (or equivalent e.g. ECS Gold Card) before being accepted for these qualifications. Proof must be submitted to the centre before attending or at registration. Qualification in the current version of BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations is also required.
The 2391-52 and EAL course packages are intended for people working in the electrical industry who have existing knowledge of inspection and testing but who need to complete the formal qualifications and refresh and/or upgrade their skills in initial verification, certification, periodic inspection & testing of electrical installations. All candidates must be over 18 years old. Options? – If you do not meet the above requirements you may wish to consider our City & Guilds 2392 course and/or 18th Edition course.
The City & Guilds 2377-77 portable appliance testing courses are for people undertaking practical inspection and testing of electrical equipment. Candidates will cover the theory behind testing of Electrical appliances using the Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment as well as the legislation surrounding the use and safety of electrical appliances within the workplace.
Prior knowledge of the IET In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment Code of Practice is not essential but is of great help in passing the on-line exam.
